Senior User Interface Designer Department: Design Experience: 5+ years

PaperPlane is looking for a Sr. UI Designer who has an eye for clean and artful design, establish a user centered design approach along with implementing innovative solutions and create amazing user experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop cutting-edge interfaces for interactive browser-based applications and consumer websites/web products.
  • Create and define overall UI organisation and layout – key areas to be covered are information presentation, navigation experience, and functionality.
  • Prepare low fidelity prototypes of sites/features (ranging from paper-and-pencil concepts to wireframes or interactive prototypes) for internal review and brainstorming.
  • Design deliverables expected for each project, which typically include user needs analysis, interaction requirements, data models, task flows, wireframes, prototypes, screen schematics, icons and interface elements, style guide and any other project documentation as required.
  • Design and evolve task flows, prototypes and designs to meet changing user needs.
  • Effectively translate usability findings into recommendations and designs.
  • Ensure that the design is implemented as per the expectations set by the client-approved design images and also ensure the quality of delivering the same.
  • Create detailed specifications and design guidelines that can be transmitted to development teams with zero information loss.
  • Document user interface guidelines and interact with application engineers to emphasise on the importance of usability principles.
  • Experience designing to corporate/industry style guides and company branding.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Academically qualified in Interaction Design, HCI or related design field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in user experience design or application interface development.
  • A Black-Belt in Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, In-Design, and also be capable in HTML and CSS, and full knowledge of their capabilities and limitations.
  • Up-to-date with latest developments in User Interface design best practices.
  • Expertise in commonly used User Experience patterns, methodologies concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience in designing useful, usable, accessible, branded and visually appealing user interfaces.
  • Experience in being involved in user-centric design methodologies across large projects.
  • Comfortable working in a Mac environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and quality is a must.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to bring projects to completion.
  • Proactively research & learn new, or re-emerging front-end technologies [capabilities] that facilitate improved user experience.
